DLM Remodeling Contractors have always been proud of our work and giving our clients the best product in the area. But this one kitchen remodeling project that we just completed in Waltham, Massachusetts might have turned out as our best to date! What aided us in creating this dream kitchen was that the home owner spared no expense. She wanted it done right with all-top-of-the-line products!
For starters, she wanted an open floor plan so we accomplished this by taking down the wall, allowing you to see front to back of the whole first floor of the home. Due to some additions from the past, the floor was slightly unleveled. To take away the unleveled look of the home, we took out all of the tile and rug, and installed a 3/4 oak hardwood flooring, sanded it and used some polyurethane. It certainly helped level things out and visually, it looks great!
The homeowner decided to add a row of cabinets to the rear of the kitchen, including the two middle cabinets that are lighted and have glass door for an enhanced look that helps break up the look of solid running cabinets in such a large kitchen. Also at this kitchen station, we added the prep area, complete with an extra sink and a beverage refrigerator. On the opposite side of the prep station, the homeowner created a little work station desk for a computer, which looks out to a beautiful 3 wide Andersen replacement window and really brings the kitchen together.
The microwave fit well into a slide out position, similar to a drawer, which helped free up some space, which is always needed in a kitchen! Where the ceiling was at its lowest point, we installed a recessed hood fan to effectively remove any smoke when cooking up a nice steak on the new stainless steel cook top / double oven with the brushed nickle hardware. The granite counter tops perfectly matched the stainless steel cook top. All the cabinets installed were 3/4 full solid oak with a shaker style door. All the rooms were painted a shade different color and changed all the door trim and baseboard from oak to a painted white.
