The guys at DLM Remodeling Contractors spent some time over in historic Lexington, MA last week. Although most of the building from the “shot heard round the world” era are now gone, there are still many older homes in the community that are struggling with insulation problems in the winter. They are still great, big, beautiful homes, but between the old siding and the old windows, heating bills can soar in the winter. This home owner was looking to swap out all of their windows for new replacement windows that would better hold in the heat and also look better.
After discussing with the home owners on the different options they had when choosing replacement windows, we both decided that the Andersen Woodwright double hung window would be best. These windows have full screens with grids on top and bottom sashes. We also installed this beautiful bay window to help bring more natural light into the home, meanwhile, still keeping the house very well insulated.
