The DLM Remodeling contractors were in Hyde Park MA last week finishing up a window replacement job for these residents. The original windows before our replacement job were single pane and originally from the early 1900’s. I’m sure you can use your imagination and just envision the different problems that came with these old windows.
With the homeowners, we selected Harvey storm windows. We also replaced this home with a wood interior Harvey Majesty to try and keep the same look. During the window installation we used insulated weight pockets and spray foamed around the window frame. We also touched up the exterior trim boards with paint to match.
Similar homes around the area of Hyde Park and Boston also have extremely outdated windows from many years ago. These windows are bringing down the appearance of homes, they are making usability extremely difficult and they increase energy bills because of drafts.
