Client: Woodland Country Club, Newton, MA
The Woodland Country Club project presented a couple of obstacles we needed to overcome. The casement windows in one of the front meeting rooms were not functioning properly and the exterior trim was in poor condition due to long exposure to the tough New England weather.
After researching the different brands available we decided on the Harvey Majesty New Construction casement windows. We feel they provide the very best value in terms of the quality to cost ratio. The Majesty series provided an aesthetically pleasing wooden interior that not only blended well with the exquisite interior wainscoting and intricate trim work throughout the country club but also provided a maintenance free exterior.
We also removed all the exterior wood trim and replicated the design using new Azek brand composite trim boards ensuring a maintenance free exterior for many years.
The double hung windows along the front of the building also needed replacing. The problem here again was how to maintain the aesthetic integrity of the hundred year old building while also providing superior energy efficiency as well as a maintenance free exterior. Again the Harvey product fit the bill.
We installed the Harvey Majesty Double Hung replacement window for its outstanding Thermal performance including double Low E coating and Argon gas filled double pane with a U value of 0.34 and an R value of 2.94.
The windows were extremely large and not all manufacturers make windows that size. Harvey makes all there replacement windows custom made down to the ¼” and reinforces the framing on larger sizes ensuring a smoothly operating window for many years. The fact that they are made locally (either in Dartmouth Ma. or Manchester, NH.) helps when the project calls for custom work. The exterior was in excellent condition, no need to replace trim work, so utilizing the Harvey Majesty Replacement Window series again provided excellent value for the dollar.
